As a tanker truck driver, sitting e... " As a tanker truck driver, sitting eight hours a day and pulling heavy fuel hoses, I had a constant stabbing pain in my low back. It affected all of my daily activities, as well as my sleep. I was miserable!
Now, after three weeks of regular adjustments and physical therapy, my re-exam results prove that the overall muscle strength in my low back has increased by 85%! I am completely pain free and feel like my old self again!

I would like to say thank you for all of your help. Several months ago I came in after having an MRI and found out that I had two herniated disks in my neck that were causing numbness in my lower left arm and hand. It was also causing me discomfort while trying to sleep. The doctor I was seeing said I could go see a specialist about having surgery on my neck, but I always remember the first time I came to see you and you said to let you do your work before going to extreme measures such as surgery. I came in for 10 visits for adjustments and physical therapy. During this time I could feel the progression of improvement to my body from adjustments, physical therapy and the traction chair. Not only did it improve the herniated disc to where I no longer have the numbness in my arm and hand I can no longer feel a lump on the back of my neck as well as it also made my lower back feel much better than it had in a long time and improved my neck posture as I had a lot of head forward posture. I am so glad I took this path of natural healing as I did not have to have an unneeded surgery that I am sure the medical field would have said was the only cure. I would recommend this care to anyone before going under the knife as you and your physical therapist have greatly improved the comfort in my life without the dangers of surgery through natural healing.

I had lots of pain in the back of my head on the right side and my neck. Thankfully the severe pain in my head is gone and my neck is getting better. I have had pain in my lower back, o... " I have had pain in my lower back, on and off, for about three years. I fell on the ice during the winter of 2008 and the pain got worse. Lately the hurt just wouldn’t go away. It hurt to bend over and I couldn’t sit, stand or walk for very long periods of time. I couldn’t complete my household chores or any of my projects that I liked to do.I was told that I have an extra vertebra in my lower back. I have also had two total knee replacements within two years of each other. I went to the doctor and he gave me muscle relaxing and pain medications, and I used ice and heat. None of those things helped.My wife and I were new in Longview. We went to the Cowlitz Home and Garden Show in March 2010, and went up to the booth from your practice. At the Home Show, Dr. Spencer had me stand on a platform that showed I was putting 30-35 more pounds on one side than the other. Then I made an appointment and had x-rays and my first exam. I found out that L5 was out on my lower back and my neck was all messed up. Within two weeks I was much better. I was sleeping better, moving around much more, and my pain was down 90%.I liked to tinker, build things, and do things with my wife. We also liked to go on walks and go to junk shops and flea markets. That wasn’t happening. Now my projects are back on track and we are back doing our things we like to do.I have no more pain. About three years ago I came in to ... " About three years ago I came in to see Dr. Bowlby for chiropractic care. As he adjusted me, Dr. Bowlby noticed that I had shingles. I returned for a second visit a few days later and the shingles were completely gone.Several days ago, I broke out with shingles again, and went to my medical doctor, who prescribed medication, which I took, but did not help. Because I was having hip pain, I went to see Dr. Bowlby four days after I broke out. By the next day, the pain from my shingles was gone and they were fading. He examined me, took x-rays and told me he could help. Within a few days, I was able to function again, without pain.

I hurt my back in the 70’s when I w... " I hurt my back in the 70’s when I was in my early twenties. I had to take a class that taught me how to live with back pain for the rest of my life. And that’s basically what I did.
Somewhere in my 40’s I started crying and couldn’t stop. I was depressed, had fibromyalgia, stomach problems and couldn’t sleep. I had chronic fatigue and couldn’t even walk across the room without needing a rest. I was a real mess. Doctors (5 in 10 years) were not helping me. I stopped working at age 51 because I was just too sick all the time.
I started to heal myself with natural methods like herbs and supplements and yoga. I saw a physical therapist for numbness in my hands. He said I had one leg shorted than the other and began treatment. I was actually feeling better. I could walk a half a mile without too much pain. When he moved his practice away, my hand numbness had not changed.
Then I found Dr. Bowlby and it has changed my life. The first 40 visits were very painful but I understood that the longer I had the problem the longer it might take to help me. It was worth it. I still have some pain but I no longer take prescription medication on a regular basis. I walk straighter and can walk for an hour with no problem. I have much more energy and can do so much more. The depression and fibromyalgia are gone. The other health problems are becoming less bothersome. I may never be completely healed but my quality of life has improved 80% already! I have a history of high blood pres... " I have a history of high blood pressure and have been on medication for several years. Two weeks ago I took my blood pressure and it was 198/100. I came to see Dr. Bowlby and Bowlby Chiropractic Center and asked him if there was something that he could do; so he adjusted me. I went straight to my MD and she took my blood pressure twice. She was amazed because it was 120/70 both times.
It has stayed that low, but it hasn’t gone that high again! Thank you Dr. Bowlby.

Because my medical doctor recommend... " Because my medical doctor recommended chiropractic treatment, I first saw Dr. Bowlby in June 2009. My primary complaints were that I could not stand up straight and I also had shooting pains down the back of my legs.

I am happy to report that I am now standing straight and walking straight, without the pain in my legs that I had previously experienced. The pain in my back is gradually lessening as well.

When my primary care provider recommended chiropractic treatment, I was rather skeptical of the whole idea. I had had one particular ordeal with another chiropractor that not only did not help; it actually made my problem worse. Needless to say, I wasn’t anxious to repeat that, but after months of suffering, I was ready to try anything. After a thorough evaluation, including x-rays, I was reassured that this would be a very different experience, based on science and tailored to my specific needs.
I could not have been happier with the treatment I received at Bowlby Chiropractic! The entire staff has been so wonderful. While professionalism is probably the most important thing I look for in healthcare of any kind, the warmth and caring demonstrated by everyone there makes your clinic unique. Hello, I’m 75 years young and was ... " Hello,

I’m 75 years young and was having so many aches and pains, from my head to my feet. At one point I could hardly get around. My daughter insisted on getting a walker for me. I didn’t want to go there, and as for painkillers…well, I’m one of those people whose stomach doesn’t tolerate much medication. I had vertigo constantly, making me nauseated and sending me to the emergency room more than once, since I can’t stop vomiting once I start.

I decided to find a chiropractor; one that could help me for I had used them many times before. Thumbing through the directory, one name popped up: Dr. Bowlby. I don’t usually do this – usually like to get a referral – but I decided to call. That was the best call I’ve made in a long, long time.

I have been coming here to Dr. Bowlby and his rehab center since September of last year. I feel like a new person! My vertigo is gone and the aches and pains that I had are all gone, too. I have my energy back and I feel so much like my old self. I’ve always had lack of energy. I still have some arthritis in my joints, but not as bad as it has been.

A year ago I had constant ringing in my ears. I work around seniors (many are hard of hearing) and they often have to have things loud. I went to a hearing doctor to be tested. He told me I had Tenitis and nothing could be done.
I just forgot about the ringing and now it is gone. The only medical attention I have had this past year is chiropractic treatments from you. It just goes to show that chiropractic can cure many ailments. Thank you Dr. Bowlby!

My first visit was on March 17, 200... " My first visit was on March 17, 2004. I came in with sever headaches and back pain. Dr. Bowlby recommended a plan of care for my condition. I started treatment and stuck with the plan.

Now I receive treatment whenever I need it. Whenever I get a pinched nerve, I come in and get an adjustment and I’m good to go. I work hard and play hard.

I believe if I hadn’t come in I wouldn’t be able to get out of my chair at home and I would be taking painkillers. I believe that by coming here is a “painkiller” all on it’s own. I went to an MD and told him that chiropractic care is the only thing that seems to help me and I recommend it highly.

I had begun to feel very tired and ... " I had begun to feel very tired and didn’t seem to have the energy that I once had. I began to work out by running and doing some light aerobic exercising. I had severe headaches and the pain was, at times, putting me on bed rest. I felt that the amount of aspirin I was taking wasn’t good for me. I realized I wasn’t dealing with the problem, but the symptom. So I decided to come to your office. I was definitely very skeptical walking in and found from your receptionist, finance officer and through our one-on-one conversation that I was put at ease and treated very well. I was given my diagnosis that my spine was misaligned and that I was carrying significantly more weight on one side than the other. After about the first three visits, I have felt significant improvements. From getting headaches about once every two days to about once or twice a month with a lot less severe at each occasion. You informed us abut how traumatic giving birth is for mothers and their babies during childbirth. Some time ago I came in to the Bowl... " Some time ago I came in to the Bowlby Chiropractic Center because of lower back and hip pain going down into my right leg. I have had a bad back since I was t... " I have had a bad back since I was ten years old. I’m now 44 years old. I’ve had back surgery, and different kinds of shots for my back. Honestly, they didn’t help a lot. I’ve gone to a lot of chiropractors and they helped a little but not much.

I started seeing Dr. Bowlby, and within six weeks I was feeling so much better than I have in years. I get sore once in a while but nothing like before. I’m able to do my normal chores a lot longer than before. Before, I would start cleaning and had to take a lot of breaks but now I am able to finish before I have to take a break.
